Event: "Kill the Hill" 5k Run/Walk

A scenic and challenging 5K run/walk beginning in downtown Vassar, climbing the M-15 hill, and finishing back near the Cass River area pavilion/downtown.
The course highlights Vassar’s naturalistic charm, local businesses, and strong sense of community. Course will be marked out using signs created by Jason and Jeff at
Cold Sky Apparel Co. detailing historical information revolving around Vassar's rich history as a logging community. There will be signs along the race course detailing Vassar's unique history as a logging community, and how the Historical Society is working hard with residents to preserve the past at the Vassar Museum.
BONUS FACT: This year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1986 flood in Vassar!
THANK YOU, Cold Sky Apparel Co for your generosity to partner with us for the 2026 t-shirts!Shirts sizes will be requested during race registration and will be made for participants prior to the race. If you're registering prior to September 1st, shirts will be available at packet pickup prior to the race on Sunday, September 20th, 2026. There will be a limited amout of t-shirts available the day of the race for purchase, however, to guarentee you receive a shirt in the correct size, please register and/or order a t-shirt in advance.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT T-Shirts: If you register after September 6th, 2026, you might not receive your race shirt on race day. Please register in advance if you want the shirt for the event! (There will be a VERY limited number of shirts for sale during the event, and your size is not guarenteed, if you're purchasing after September 6th.)

Kid's Run Run Information:A kid’s "fun run" will take place before the main 5k event for all kids signed up for the 5k. Any children ages 3-17 years old are welcome and this will also be located at the T. North Pavilion in Vassar, Michigan.
Start time will be 9:00am for this event. All youth under 17 participating MUST have an accompanying adult to sign an event form waiver of liability!The "fun run" will
not offer a separate shirt after the event.

Registration Cost:
- Early Bird Before August 1st = Youth (Ages 3-17 years old) are $25.00 + processing fee
- Early Bird Before August 1st = Adults (Ages 18+) are $35.00 + processing fee
**After August 1st, 2026, there will be a $15.00 rate increase! Register early for the discount and get training sooner!!!_________________________________________________________________________________________

8:00am - Packet pickup and Vendors at the T. North Pavilion in Vassar, MI.
9:00am - Kid's Fun Run race starts beginning at the T. North Pavilion.
10:00am - Official "Kill The Hill" event starts at 10:00am beginning at the T. North Pavilion.
